AutoHotkey

Powerful. Easy to learn.

The ultimate automation scripting language for Windows.

Which version should you install?

Version 2.0 is the current release. Its syntax is cleaner and more consistent, the documentation is actively maintained, and new guides — including every tutorial on this site — are written for it. Choose v2 unless you have a specific reason not to.

Version 1.1 is kept online for people maintaining older scripts that have not been converted yet. It no longer receives feature updates. If an existing .ahk file refuses to run under v2, it was probably written for v1.1; run it with the legacy build or update the script using the v1-to-v2 migration notes.

Both installers work on Windows 11 and Windows 10, and the two versions can live side by side on the same machine without conflicts.
